Armed youths riot in park
A mass brawl in Vivary Park involving 40 teenagers some armed with hammers, baseball bats and knives. Two 15 year old boys were arrested and one had to be overpowered with CS spray.
The two boys were released later with a 'final warning'.

Jewler battered in terrifying robbery
A Taunton Jeweller was puched repeatedly in the face and head duing a violent robbery. After subjecting the 52 year old man to a brutal attack the men made off with jewellery worth around £50,000.
The robbery took place in St. James Street.

A 13 year old boy was sprayed in the eyes with an aerosol after being hit repeatedly with a pair of swimming trunks and pushed over.

Vicious Attack
A man was viciously attacked in Taunton town centre. He was with a friend in lower middle street and were confronted by two men.
One of the victims was punched in the face and knocked to the floor and was then kicked and punched.

Teenager smashed over head with bottle
A TEENAGER is recovering after an unopened bottle of alcopops was smashed over her head.
Melanie Moore, 17, was attacked in the street by a youth she had just met in a friend's house in Taunton.
She collapsed with blood streaming from her head and was treated by paramedics before being taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, where she received six stitches.
The culprit was seen running off after the incident outside Sheldon Court just before 11pm on Friday.

Man Jailed for revenge attack
A shoplifter attacked a store manager who had reported him to the police.
Daniel Manning, 33, of Hornbeam Close, Taunton, clashed with the shop manager as he walked along East Reach.
He shouted "you got me done," to which his victim replied that he had got what he deserved.
Manning the ran up to him and punched him in the face and ribs.He later told the police that the victim had assaulted him and he was only acting in self defence.
But the court heard that Manning, who had previous convictions for offences including shoplifting and assault, acted out of revenge.
Attacked on way home

When walking home from town a Taunton man and two of his friends were approached by three youths. "At first we thought they seemed relatively harmless and continued to walk on. They began to hassle us and encourage us to fight them but we said we weren't interested. I had nearly reached the front door of my house when one of them through a punch at my head. Next thing I know I'm lying on the floor having my head kicked in. The guy then demanded I give him my wallet and continued to kick me untill I gave him my pin code for my bank card. One of my other friends refused to hand over his wallet and was punched in the face." This happened at around 1AM on Saturday 9 February in the car park by "Malt n Hops" and along Duke Street.
Woman breaks mans leg with judo throw

A WOMAN broke a man's leg by throwing him to the ground in martial arts style, Taunton police revealed this week.
The 22-year-old victim suffered a spiral fracture to two bones in his leg and a dislocated ankle after the unprovoked attack in Station Road, Taunton, at about 1.50am on March 2. He is now recovering at home after surgery.
Police are appealing for the public's help to trace the woman, who was stocky, in her 20s, with brown hair.
Car Park Incident
10th April
POLICE units were called to an incident in Canon Street car park this afternoon.
It is understood that five police cars were sent to the area at about 4pm.
The incident, thought to be a suspected disorder offence, was dealt with quickly.
Street Assault
23rd March
POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a man was attacked in Eastbourne Road, Taunton, in the early hours of Sunday.
The assault happened shortly after the victim had an argument with two men as they all left a kebab shop in East Reach at 12.25am.
One of the men punched the victim a number of times and kicked him when he was on the ground.
He was not seriously injured and did not require hospital treatment.
