After the gang ran off, two workmen helped Shohel, 19, who was taken to hospital. The incident happened in Creechbarrow Road, Taunton, as the they walked home from Asda. Monday 22nd October Wednesday 2nd January Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked at about 5.45pm. The man, who is 47 and from Taunton, had been shopping at ASDA. He was walking home and had reached the junction of Creechbarrow Road and Wheatley Crescent when he received head injuries in an apparently unprovoked attack. He has been taken to Musgrove Park Hospital where he remains undergoing treatment. Police appealing for early hours attack POLICE have appealed for witnesses after two men were hit to the ground in an attempted robbery. At least one victims appeared to be knocked out during the incident in Wedlands, Taunton. Marwood Davidson witnessed the attack from his bedroom after being woken when one of the men fell against his gate at about 1am on Saturday, March 8. "There were four blokes having a scuffle and one was out cold on the ground," said Mr Davidson. "I rang 999 and told them what was going on - they asked me if the bloke was alright, but I said I wasn't going out to see. "A neighbour came out of his house wearing just trousers to help one of the men on the ground and chase the attackers off." Mr Davidson's wife, Margaret, said: "They were kicking them all over the body. "One of the victims was laid out in front of our house and the other was two doors down." One victim got up and walked off, while the other took some time to get to his feet before staggering off. A police spokesman said officers attended the scene within eight minutes of being called. "It was reported that two men on pushbikes robbed or attempted to rob two men on the corner of Cheddon Road and Wedlands," he added. Officers say that just before 1pm on Thursday, three men raided the Post Office in Priorswood and threatened staff with weapons. The offenders smashed the partition windows before making off with cash. The police helicopter was soon in the skies, circling over an area near Taunton Green, off Cheddon Road. The road was closed on Thursday afternoon and several officers were on the scene. Nobody was injured during the incident. Police were appealing for help to find discarded clothing or items including a small claw hammer, black holdall or blue cash bag. Four men, two aged 36 years, 32 and 18 years, currently remain in custody at Taunton Police Station on suspicion of robbery. Man Assaulted As He Walked Home A 54-year-old man has been assaulted in Taunton town centre. It happened just after midnight on Wednesday when the man was walking along Kingston Road. The man was approached and assaulted by a teenage boy and girl. He was treated at Musgrove Park hospital for minor injuries. Fight in Local Pizza Shop A fight broke out between two drunken men in a local pizza shop on station road. Police attended the scene which took place about 11.30
