Appeal after attack
A man was viciously assaulted as he walked through Taunton. He was repeatedly kicked and punched in Priorswood Road.

Violent Assault on Neighbours
A woman from Taunton led a drunken brawl outside her house after violently assaulting two of her neighbours. She kicked down her neighbours door in Lyngford Place and puched her repeatedly in the head.

Vicious Attacks
A man was found covered in blood by his girlfriend after being attacked from behind in Eastwick Road.
Another attack in the same area involved a motorcyclist being set upon by a group of men, some had baseball bats.

Knife-point robber
The robberies took place on Canal road. Two knife point robberies were reported.
First the two robbers forced a man off his bike, the man was threatened at knife-point, forcing him to hand over his wallet. He was then punched in the face.
Exactly the same happened to another cyclist three quaters of a mile away. This attack was near Bathpool.

Yet more violence in Taunton
Man punched and marched to cashpoint on Priorswood Road, after being told by the attacker that he had a knife. The victim was made to withdraw £300 before being punched.

In the same week a man sustained body and head injuries after having his wallet stolen by 3 men.

Tuesday 27th November
Racist Attack
AN Indian man had his nose and cheekbone broken after a gang of youths set on him and two friends in a vicious racist attack.

Police are investigating claims that the culprits, hurling racist insults, pelted Shohel Rana and the others with stones before punching and kicking him.

After the gang ran off, two workmen helped Shohel, 19, who was taken to hospital.

The incident happened in Creechbarrow Road, Taunton, as the they walked home from Asda.

Man attacked on way home from supermarket

A MAN suffered head injuries in an attack as he walked home from a Taunton supermarket yesterday.

Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked at about 5.45pm.

The man, who is 47 and from Taunton, had been shopping at ASDA.

He was walking home and had reached the junction of Creechbarrow Road and Wheatley Crescent when he received head injuries in an apparently unprovoked attack.

He has been taken to Musgrove Park Hospital where he remains undergoing treatment.

Police appealing for early hours attack
8th March

POLICE have appealed for witnesses after two men were hit to the ground in an attempted robbery.

At least one victims appeared to be knocked out during the incident in Wedlands, Taunton.

Marwood Davidson witnessed the attack from his bedroom after being woken when one of the men fell against his gate at about 1am on Saturday, March 8.

"There were four blokes having a scuffle and one was out cold on the ground," said Mr Davidson.

"I rang 999 and told them what was going on - they asked me if the bloke was alright, but I said I wasn't going out to see.

"A neighbour came out of his house wearing just trousers to help one of the men on the ground and chase the attackers off."

Mr Davidson's wife, Margaret, said: "They were kicking them all over the body.

"One of the victims was laid out in front of our house and the other was two doors down."

One victim got up and walked off, while the other took some time to get to his feet before staggering off.

A police spokesman said officers attended the scene within eight minutes of being called.

"It was reported that two men on pushbikes robbed or attempted to rob two men on the corner of Cheddon Road and Wedlands," he added.

Post Office Raid
3rd April

Officers say that just before 1pm on Thursday, three men raided the Post Office in Priorswood and threatened staff with weapons.

The offenders smashed the partition windows before making off with cash.

The police helicopter was soon in the skies, circling over an area near Taunton Green, off Cheddon Road.

The road was closed on Thursday afternoon and several officers were on the scene.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

Police were appealing for help to find discarded clothing or items including a small claw hammer, black holdall or blue cash bag.

Four men, two aged 36 years, 32 and 18 years, currently remain in custody at Taunton Police Station on suspicion of robbery.

Man Assaulted As He Walked Home
29th May

A 54-year-old man has been assaulted in Taunton town centre.

It happened just after midnight on Wednesday when the man was walking along Kingston Road.

The man was approached and assaulted by a teenage boy and girl.

He was treated at Musgrove Park hospital for minor injuries.

Fight in Local Pizza Shop
31st May

A fight broke out between two drunken men in a local pizza shop on station road.

Police attended the scene which took place about 11.30
