Bullying Lout Jailed and Given ASBO
24th April

A "BULLYING lout" who terrorised two young women shop assistants has been jailed.

Lee Mark Collard, 22, of Bacon Drive, Taunton, could also go to prison for up to five years if he goes within 50 yards of the One Stop Shop, Wordsworth Drive, in the next five years.

That was one of the conditions of an Anti-Social behaviour Order (ASBO) slapped on Collard at Taunton Crown Court on Monday after he pleaded guilty to several offences.

The court heard how he stole cider from the shop, put a chocolate egg in his mouth and smeared it on the window outside.

He returned later and was "aggressive, very abusive and swearing", throwing sweets out of the door, at which point one of the assistants banned him and the other ran into the back offices "shaking, crying and very upset".

They pulled down the shutters, but Collard was heard headbutting or kicking the shop front.

The same evening, he attacked a young man who arrived outside the shop on a Scooter, grabbing him by his jacket, pushing him into a wall and dragging him along the ground before riding off on the bike.

The Scooter was recovered outside Collard's home and he was arrested and gave a positive breath test.
